Arrange
the various graphic elements
Graphic elements (type,
illustrations, photos, white space) are arranged in the most attractive
and effective way possible -Work on ads and usually design and
produce collateral materials such as posters, brochures and annual
reports.
Execute
the layout
Make sure that the layout
is dynamic. There is a powerful dynamic created when a remarkable
layout is well presented through printing materials. This will
include scanning the images from photographs and saved them in
either bmp tif, or eps format. These image format will preserve
the color and sharpness of the pictures the best.
Edit and enhance the color
of the image because color can create definitely a satisfactory
long-lasting image of the layout. -Arrange orderly all the format
elements of an ad: headlines, subheads, visuals, copy, captions,
trademarks, slogans and signature.
Develop and evaluate the
ad's final look and feel and welcome the client's comments and
approval
Do
illustrations
Draw the visuals in an
ad when client's have no existing pictures to put in their ads
depending on its particular needs, look and feel. Required usually
on labels because mascots and cartoons are preferred
Uses the non final art--to
establish the ad's look and feel and prepares a mechanical--the
final artwork with the actual type in place along with all the
visuals the printer will need to reproduce the ad
Do
thumbnail sketches
Rapidly produced small,
rough drawings are used to visualize layout approaches without
wasting time on details
Do
rough and comprehensive layout
Present the actual size
of the ad. Headlines, subheads, suggest the final type style,
illustrations and photographs are sketched in. -Do the dummy:
Assembles the dummy by hand, using computer proofs, mounting them
on paper and then cutting and folding them to size. For example,
a dummy for a brochure is put together, page by page, to look
exactly like the finished product.
